PHBC VISION STATEMENT

At Pleasant Hill, it is our desire to be a church of irresistible influence in the community as we engage in leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Through God’s provision, we dream of creating a place where the Word is taught, the Spirit is alive, God is worshipped, and people find real relationships with Jesus Christ.

We are a family of imperfect people bound together by our love for Christ, looking for tangible ways to share that love with one another, our community, and the world.

WHAT DOES THE CHURCH BELIEVE?

• Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ

• The Bible is the Authority for faith and practice
• All believers are priests before God, competent to interpret Scripture, and free to follow the Holy Spirit
• Baptism is for believers only and is by immersion
• Each church is autonomous and self-governing
• Cooperative Missions is based on mutual trust and shared decision making
• The State and Church should be separate in their function, but Christians should be involved in government in society.

Romans 10:9-10 (NIV) That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
